Anniversary Edition. 355 pp. plus 48 photo plates, small quarto, light blue cloth with black, white, green and yellow illustration on front board. boards are detached from textblock. spine cloth at front hinge is partially split. page 355 is loose but included. there are a number of interesting preface articles, including a statement to the public regarding the author, a testimonial dated 1902, a preface, an appreciative letter, introduction, the author's special preface to the anniversary edition, and President Theodore Roosevelt's Centennial anniversary speech all before the contents page. pages are moderately age tanned and somewhat fragile on the edges. illustrations are b/w. shelving rub and wear to edges and corners of boards.
