About the Author:

Sandra Magsamen is an artist and art therapist whose work is based upon her belief that "beauty and purpose live in everything, even in those things where you would least expect to find them." Her company, Table Tiles, Inc., specializes in producing an extensive line of gift items, functional works of art that carry positive messages about the human spirit. She is also the author of Gestures of Kindness, a series of gift and stationary products that includes small-format books (Dear Mom, Thank You With All My Heart; Things to Do; Happy Birthday to You; Babies Are Born with Hearts of Gold; They Lived Happily Ever After; and Thanks A Bunch), fill-in journals, and boxed notecards. She lives with her husband and daughter in Glen Arm, Maryland.

Linell Smith is an award-winning journalist who writes for The Baltimore Sun on the arts, health, and religion. She has also written a general interest column for the paper, and for many years taught writing at Goucher College. The granddaughter of poet Ogden Nash, she lives in Baltimore, Maryland, with her husband and daughter.
