92 p. Dark blue cloth over boards. Gold stamped titles decorated, w/ color art paste-on, front. Small old bookstore sticker, 1st free end paper: Chas. E. Lauriat Co., Boston. RARE. Remembered stories told to Georgene Faulkner by her mother who in turn had heard them from her own mother in her New England childhood. As well, some are drawn by Faulkner from "English Fairy Tales" by Jacobs, Joseph. End papers: in brown ink on off-white paper, elf on toadstool w/ dragonfly like a kite on a string. Tales (8): The Gingerbread Boy, The Three Little Pigs, Chicken Little, The Three Bears, The Cat and the Mouse, The Little Red Hen, The Old Woman and the Pig, The Little Red Hen and the Fox. The remaining Milo Winter plates are brilliant. Fair. No dust jacket. Pencil markings in child's hand. 4 of 8 Milo Winter color plates missing. Others, beautiful w/ tissue paper, save last plate loosening slightly from bottom. Spine darkened. Light edge scuff to paste-on. First edition. No print line. Presumed 1st.
