Contemporary marbled paper-covered boards, expertly rebacked to style A fine copy of Seeley's influential guide to the house and grounds of one of the great English stately homes. This is an updated edition of a work first published by Seeley in this form in 1797. The fine plates and text concentrate on showing the harmony of architecture and landscape featured at Stowe, even though both the buildings and the grounds were worked on and changed throughout the 18th century.
