Synopsis: Steven George was living the American Dream. To the outside world, he had everything. He had a spacious home in Brentwood, California, a beautiful wife, two adorable children, and a convertible Porsche. His was the perfect life, until one day when his wife discovered his deepest secret. For over a decade he had been struggling with a relentless addiction to drugs and alcohol. Stream of Unconsciousness chronicles Steven's dark experience with his addictions, his wife's attempt to discover the truth, an emotional intervention, and his subsequent life experiences in one of the premier rehab facilities in the nation. This poignant memoir gives the reader an honest, unique insight into the mind of the addict as he first struggles to survive in a world of lies and then learns how to stay sober and ultimately live a full life with no secrets.
About the Author
Steven George was born in Los Angeles and presently lives in Santa Monica, California. He is a licensed California attorney, received his Certificate in Drug and Alcohol Counseling from UCLA and presently works as an Interventionist.
"Steven has done a masterful job in writing a book that will captivate and inspire not only those working in the addictive disease field, but also the addict, their family and the recovering. It is a story that precisely exemplifies the power of addiction and the miracle of recovery."
- Ed Storti, Intervention Specialist
"Rarely do we see an individual in recovery dig so deeply into their own personal experience with addiction that they are not only able to connect with others who've shared similar experiences, but they are also able to grab the attention of anyone who's ever known or worked with someone suffering from an addictive disease; Steven George has remarkably done just that in this powerful and important book."
- Ken Seeley, Founder of Intervention911.com and Interventionist from A&E's hit show Intervention
