About the Author:
Dr Gavin Beccaria is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty ofSciences, Department of Psychology, at the University of SouthernQueensland. He teaches clinical psychology in both theundergraduate and graduate programs, and also works part-time inprivate practice as a clinical psychologist. Prior to moving intoacademia, he was the Director of Psychology at the Toowoomba HealthService and managed 35 psychologists. He has worked with peopleofall ages in a number of setings, including the community, localhospitals and tertiary mental health facilities, and has treatedpeople with severe mental illness. A winner of a Faculty EarlyCareer Teaching Award, Gavin’s current research interestsinclude evaluating clinical and counselling interventions, andproblem-solving training.
