About this title

Synopsis:

From the back cover: have you ever wanted to understand style from the Hispanic perspective? In this men's style guide, Luke offers a unique approach to dressing and appearance. The style rules of old money Americans and British don't cut it anymore; however, the rules can still be interpreted to serve a purpose for us today. To add a generous touch of flare to any ensemble is what the author believes to be an expression of the Hispanic-American identity. Good, old Hispanic know-how — blended with European Continental philosophy — sets the basis for this book. To be suave — or to have pizzazz, as Luke says — cues from the European continent must be followed, and American ingenuity must be applied. He shares many visual examples of how to always dress proper and be expressive of one's own individual tastes. There are contemporary guidelines and ideas presented for every occasion and many aficionados of style, whether it be the young professional or the experienced clotheshorse. About the Author:

Luke Martinez was born on June 26th, '83 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and still currently resides there. He comes from a traditional, middle class, Hispanic family, and had a pretty normal childhood. Growing up, Luke appreciated the art of classic style in itself, and the effect it has on others. Through reading Continental philosophy, Luke learned to gain empowerment through his Hispanic identity, and combined his indigenous, flashy eye for flair with classical rules for an original look. He enjoys offering personal advice to anyone who will listen. Luke holds a dual B.A. in English & philosophy from the University of New Mexico. He is Roman Catholic and a son of the American Legion. His pastimes include cooking, Buddhism, computing and boxing. Twitter: ~/lukejmartinez. Facebook: ~/suavethebook.
