12mo 7" - 7�" tall; 188 pages; 1870 D. Appleton and Company. HC 2nd American edition. Soundly bound in original pebbled green cloth with titles in gilt to spine. Curiously there is a J.B. L (J.B. Lippincott) monogram at base of spine byt Appleton imprint on title page. Both publishers issued this title 1869/70. Light splash soiling over part of spine and rear board. Coated brown endpapers clean and intact. Appears to be missing a half-title page. Contents bright and clean. Solid early copy of this important work on the rights of women by the English philosopher. VG-.
