About this title

Fractions are an integral part of building a strong foundation in mathematics. The more familiar students are will fractions, the less scary they will seem. Bolster math skills with this essential supplementary book. With these exercises, students work sequentially through each concept in fractions and practice their skills before moving on to the next concept. Each concept is explained in an introductory page and followed by two practice pages. Periodic cumulative review pages can be used for additional practice or for assessment. This step-by-step approach can be used for extended study or to supplement the regular textbook. Meets NCTM standards.

While Book 1 introduces the basic concepts in fractions, this book reviews some of those concepts and continues with more advanced material. It includes units on fractions on a number line, equivalent fractions, reducing to simplest form, multiplying and dividing, adding and subtracting (not a common denominator), multiplying and dividing mixed numbers, decimal equivalents, identifying the whole, and finding the fraction of the whole.
