About this Item

A very good copy of the first hard cover edition ("A" on copyright page), lacking the dust-jacket, inscribed and signed by August Derleth (dated 1940) on the front free endpaper. Else the text is unmarked, pristine. Binding is still quite bright and fresh in appearance, with a bit of dulling to the spine, as from normal handling. Age-toning to the endpapers. A lovely copy.
