First edition. 322pp. Octavo [20 cm] Green cloth over boards with lettering and ornamental stamping in gilt, black and blind on the backstrip and boards. With a frontispiece illustration titled "Utah's Best Crop." Good condition. The extremities are rubbed, the cloth at the spine ends is frayed, and the corners of the covers are bumped, with the underlying boards exposed. The spine is darkened. The hinges are going, and there are occasional cracks in the text block. The first page has an ink stamp. George A. Croffut was responsible for multiple tourist guides and manuals inspiring Americans to visit and settle in the West, guides which prominently featured the growing railroad network as the best way to explore this vast territory.
