7 3/4" x 10" Bond Coupon issued in 1938 for the planned 1940 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Tokyo was stripped of its host status by the IOC after the renunciation by the Japanese after the IOC's Cairo Conference of 1938, due to the outbreak of the Second Sino-Japanese War. It was awarded to Helsinki, Finland which was the runner-up in the original bidding process. The Games were then scheduled to be staged from July 20 to August 4, 1940 but then were suspended indefinitely following the outbreak of W.W.II and did not resume until the London Games of 1948. The bond would have matured in 1943 with an interest of 200 Marks. Printed in green, brown, black and white. Decorative borders with b/w illustration on top left and right corners. Text in Finnish and Swedish. "Obligatio osallistuu vuosina 1939-1943 yhteensä kymmeneen voittojen arvontaan. Viimeisen arvonnan jälkeen maksetaan tästä obligatiosta lunastkus kaksisataa (200) markaa.
