About the Author:

Susan Elise still resides on the "God Forsaken Farm" in the small rural community of her childhood, which she speaks of in her first book, "Survival Shadows and Surrender of a Rebel". She leads a very simple life of richness, peace and contentment as she serves the Lord through her volunteer mission work. Her greatest joys are the gifts and blessings of her two children and two grandchildren, and the children she comes in contact with in orphanages, and refugee camps. She is an active member of the same United Methodist Church where she attended as a child, and was baptized in 1967. She has served two years as Missions Chair in her church, and participates in the church choir. She has served as United Methodist Youth Fellowship leader, teaches or assists in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and bible study, and occasionally gives the Sunday message as well as doing other speaking engagements. Susan Elise is active in the United Methodist Volunteers in Missions program, where she has served in Mexico, Peru, and on a disaster relief team to Mississippi after the hurricanes. She is a member of the local chapter of the Lion's Club International. She is founder of Salt and Light Missions, a nonprofit ministry which serves the needy locally, domestically as well as internationally for her local church and community. Donations received of clothing, bibles, food, toys, books, medicines and other numerous items come from the surrounding areas, and with the help of her local church family, and her constant fundraisers she delivers to those in need. Salt and Light Missions has served many local families as well as missions to locations in Oklahoma, Kentucky, Texas and Kansas. Susan Elise has sold most of her material possessions to fund her ministry and hopes to continue serving others as the Lord leads. She looks forward to leading future teams in missions as well as continuing the Salt and Light Missions for her church and community. She is hopeful to serve in missions to
