About this title

Synopsis:

Keavin Hayden's 1994 best seller The Shaking Among God's People grew out of a presentation he gave to a dissident group, many of who returned to the church. Continued study of the topic since then has led him to a deeper understanding of the present shaking in the church over inspiration, church issues, and theology.
After tackling questions about inspiration and the purpose of the writings of Ellen White, the author focuses on the theology of salvation. "After only a few years in the Adventist Church," he writes, "I began to adopt sentiments that shifted my hope to my performance in the Christian life. That's when the drought started."
The antidote? A balanced faith that seeks to combine law and gospel without confusing them, and that focuses on absolute trust instead of absolute perfection. Only by trusting in the blood of the cross can we reach the pinnacle of our Christian experience.
The author concludes that only a faith that is deeply rooted in grace will produce spiritual fruit and withstand the strong winds that are shaking the church in the end-time.
