Thomas, Frank. The Sword in the Stone; an original hand painted photocell from the movie. A squirrel scene in winter. Los Angeles: Walt Disney Co, 1963. Book condition: Near fine. An original hand painted celluloid of the squirrel scene from the movie. The photo cell measures 12 x 10 inches, and is taped in a mat that measures 12 x 14 inches. A mounted label on the back describes this as an original handpainted celluloid drawing used in a Walt Disney production. The photo cell is near fine and nicely protected in the surrounding mat which is a bit stained and with tiny pin holes at the corners, and two small dents at top edge. Based on T. H. White's novel of the same title, the animated movie of The Sword and the Stone was released on Dec 25, 1963. Pictured in this photo cell are the squirrel Wart, and a girl squirrel in the foreground with a winter forest scene in the background. Bill Peet, noted author/illustrator of many children's books is credited with creating the story boards for this movie; Frank Thomas animated the squirrel scenes. Charming. Bookseller Inventory #
