8vo. pp. [34] 150. Dual page text in Greek and Latin. Each section contains a divisional half-title. Re-bound in modern thick un-sized rag paper over boards with yapp edges after an early style of paper covered binding. Interior is age-toned. A library perforated stamp is present in the bottom margin of the title page and in the bottom margin of leaf Dii. Both stamps are patched on the verso with a matching piece of thin early paper. Title contains minor edge chipping with outer corner tip neatly restored. Final blank / fly-leaf is a bit chipped. Author's name is written in an early hand on the fore-edge of the book. Contains three works edited from manuscripts by the German Greek scholar Andreas Arnold: Athanasius, "Syntagma Doctrinae ad clericos et laicos" - a treatise by St. Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria (296-373 c.e.) on the Christian life and on Christian asceticism; Valentinian III and Marcian, "Epistolae duae ad Leonem" - two letters by the Roman emperors Valentinian III and Marcian to Pope Leo concerning the Council of Chalcedon (c.e 451); Theodorus Abucara, Bishop 0f Caria in Syria (8th cent.)
