Tall, slim quarto sized volume in color illustrated hardcovers, red ribbon ties. Text in Polish. A scarce and uusual pop up book (according to The Movable Book Society, the first pop up book published in Poland). A beautiful pop up book, done in bold red, blue and green and with gilt highlights representative of Russian or Slovakian folk art. designed by Polish architect Alma Sacowska and illustrated by Artur Lobus. In addition to the pop ups, an extra text booklet is inset in the front cover. Additional pieces are laid into the booklet as are 16 press-out figures. Fine, fresh example, unused and with all pop ups in perfect condition. Our understanding is that the book was not available outside Poland except for a limited number of copies offered through the Movable Book Society in limited quantity to members.
