About this Item

FIRST EDITION. Inspector J.G. Reeder is ensnared in a trap set by Crazy John Flack and some of London's most desperate crooks, and he must fight for his life in a battle of wits and weapons. Wallace was one of the most renowned English suspense novelists of the early 20th century, and this is a fine showcase of his talents. 283 pp. Slight spine lean. Light bumps to all four corners. Light age-yellowing and a bit of light soiling and spotting to edges of text. Some light soiling to FFEP, half-title, title page, several pages of text. Just a bit of light foxing to RFEP, last page of text. Light shelf creasing to both spinecaps. Light rubbing to rear board and very light rubbing to front board. Slight crease to length of spine. DJ now archivally protected. Sylish image on front DJ panel features silhouette of a long-haired man over a labrotory table with both arms extended and a silhouetted hand pointing a gun at him. All four DJ corners clipped. Two-quarter sized chip to top spinecap, two quarter dime-sized chips to spine; half a dozen or so quarter-dime sized or much smaller chips to edges. About half a dozen small closed tears an inch or less. Light rubbing and soiling to DJ panels. VERY GOOD in chipped dustjacket. Bookseller Inventory # 65291
