About this Item

Vintage original 11 x 14" (28 x 35 cm.) title lobby card, USA. Edmund Lowe, Constance Bennett, Roscoe Karns, Zasu Pitts, dir: Paul L. Stein; Pathé. Lovely Art Deco treatment for this romantic Pre-Code tale which is considered to be a lost film. The story concerned a young woman disillusioned by marriage because of her observation of her sister's constant battles with her husband. When she meets a millionaire gold miner who is smitten by her and offers marriage, she agrees to be his housewife for a salary. The "arrangement" allows them both to consort with others should they choose. Eventually true love wins out however! Based on a play by Edwin J. Burke, there was a two-strip Technicolor sequence included. VERY GOOD. Bookseller Inventory # 10287
