Presumably issued with a slipcase as Random House usually provides one for their limited editions but one is not present with this copy nor is a dust jacket. Black leather spine with vibrant silver and gold stamping, dark blue marbled paper boards, light scuffing at spine ends and at tips of board corners. Top edge gilt. Foreword by R.B. Anderson; map illustration of the East Texas Oil Field on page 85; two appendices; Index. A very good+ copy. Biography of Ernest Othmer Thompson who earned fame during his tenure as Chairman of the Texas State Railroad Commission when he mandated oil-production levels known as prorationing, an action for which he is now recognized as a leader in the field of petroleum conservation.
