Blue cloth with gilt letters on the spine. Very minor wear to extremities with nothing rubbed through, spine gilt just barely dulled, previous owner's signature, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. Previous owner's calculations laid in on several sheets taken from a 1943 calendar! Born in 1897, Charles Letnam Mantell was Professor in the Pratt Institute in Booklyn, New York, and a member of the American Institute of Mining and Mettalurgical Engineers, as well as the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
