2 volumes octavo 9 1/4 x 5 3/4 inches - with an interesting letter stating - Bound in the Roxburghe style with hand made endpapers and an original Douglas Cockerel board paper by Mr Austin, late binder to the Duke of Bedford at the London School of Printing in November 1957. The original paper label attached to the letter. 2 engraved title pages, xxiv, 224, viii, 248 pages and illustrated with 30 sepia aquatint oval plates. Complete. A good copy in an unusual binding in the original slip case. John Hassell c. 1767 1825 was an English watercolour landscape painter, engraver, illustrator, writer, publisher and drawing-master.
