Minor dings around the edges, spine slightly rubbed, minor fingernail-sized damp mark on front cover and affecting first few pages, corners square and flat, no rust on the staples, address label and stamp on rear cover, else very good to near fine with no other markings. This issue includes the following articles: Aa Tale of Old Pine Flat (now Charlton Flat) by Dan S. Hammack; Cabin Landmarks of the Angeles; Loomis Ranch ¿ Last Homestead by Odo B. Stade; Trail Song, poetry by Henry Herbert Knibbs; Early Days in the Chillia Country by Arthur B.Carter; Mountain Recreation Summer of 1938 by William V. Mendenhall; Your Mountains Need Your Help A Call to Public Service by Earl Kudell; The Yucca Hiking Club of Monrovia; among others. TRAILS MAGAZINE was published quarterly from 1934 through 1935 by The Mountain League of Southern California, a non-profit organization of representatives of Public Departments and Outing clubs, formed for the purpose of stimulating the development and use of mountain trails and other facilities for outdoor recreation in Los Angeles County. The magazine was revived in 1941 by the Southern California outdoor Federation whose purpose was the same as that of the mountain league of Southern California. As far as I know they only published to issues. In any case, this is a rare piece of ephemera on mountaineering in the San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California. Bookseller Inventory # 008310
