About this Item

This is a very clean, tight, bright first edition bound in red boards with gold titles and trim. The dust jacket is very good with only very minor chips to the extremities. This copy is SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY MARCOSSON. In 1902 he was made an editor of The World's Work in association with Walter H. Page, later Ambassador to Great Britain. Five years later he joined the writing staff of The Saturday Evening Post, subsequently becoming chief foreign correspondent. He remained with The Post until his retirement in 1936. Marcosson's achievements during World War I, together with his subsequent contacts, won him the title of the world's foremost interviewer. Year after year he has continued his world jouneying, always on the spot when upheaval broke or a new personality arose. During World War I he was with all six Allied armies and knew every Allied commander-in-chief and every premier. He wrote the fist war interview with Lloyd George and the only one Haig ever gave.
