Staple bo und magazine in yellow & black pictorial wrappers. 4to (12.50 X 9.25") size, 40pp. B&w photo illustrations.A Good only copy,covers are wrinl ed and rubbed with cotrner creases and small edge tears. First page of text inside is shaken loose but still present. A few pages with short edge tears. A readable but somewhat fragile copy. Described as the "O fficial Organ of the Tuskegee General Alumni Association." This editio n is "Dedicated to the life and memory of Wright Barton Walker, Massil lon, OH. The Tuskegeean started in 1930 and its publication was irre gular. As with many alumni publications, a lot of the content is of up dates of graduates and notifications of local alumni meetings. This on e also has several pages on Walker, who was born into slavery in Madis on, GA, year uncertain. When Sherman marched through that state, like many other African Americans, Walker joined the former slaves followin g the army. After emancipation, Walker made his way north to New York and eventually, Massillon, OH, where he worked for several prominent f amilies. A scarce piece of Black Americana in the 1930's.
