About this Item

Early Printing. Extensively illustrated throughout including 75 colour photographs by F.L. Kenett. 4to, publisher’s original blue cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine and decorated in gilt on the upper cover. 312 pp. A fine copy, only lightly mellowed at the spine panel. Since the discovery in 1922 by Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon of the tomb of Tutankhamen people have been fascinated and amazed by ‘King Tut’. When the riches from his tomb first went on public display, and first went on international tour, a sensation perhaps only surpassed by the moon shot was triggered. Ms. Desroches-Noblecourt compiled this extensive study of the history of King Tut, the excavation of the tomb and the spectacular treasures found therein and lavishly illustrated it with countless photographs. The Arcadia Press and Zaehnsdorf of London have transformed this study into a volume fit for the finest of collections. Bookseller Inventory # 24952
