About this Item

66 PAGES. THIS IS A USED COPY AND THE OWNER HAS WRITTEN NOTES AND A PHONE NUMBER ON THE COVERS AND A FEW PAGES. THIS IS A PRE-CONVENTION ISSUE OF THE POPULAR "TV PREVUE" MAGAZINE THAT LISTS THE TV PROGRAMS OF THE WEEK. EACH MAGAZINE HAD A FEATURE ARTICLE. THIS MAGAZINE'S FEATURE ARTICLE IS A PREVUE OF THE PREPARATIONS FOR THE TV COVERAGE OF THE UPCOMING 1968 DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION. THE ARTICLE FEATURES THE TV PROGRAMMING OF THE MAJOR TV STATIONS WITH PHOTO ILLUSTRATIONS OF THE NEWS STAFF INCLUDING; HARRY REASONER NEWS COMMENTARY FOR THE CBS NEWS TEAM, FRANK REYNOLDS WILL INTERVIEW DELGATES ON THE CONVENTION FLOOR FOR ABC, HUGH DOWNS AND BARBARA WALTERS WILL BRING THE "TODAY SHOW" TO THE MERCHANDISE MART. DRAWINGS WILL BE PROVIDED BY FRANKLIN McMAHON. MARTIN AGRONSKY WILL REPORT FOR CBS AND JOHN SCALI IS THE ABC CONVENTION FLOOR REPORTER. THE ARTICLE LAMENTS THAT THERE MAY BE LIMITED COVERAGE DUE TO A LONG STANDING STRIKE OF THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS AGAINST THE ILLINOIS BELL TELEPHONE CO. THERE IS NO MENTION OF WHAT WAS TO COME ON THE THE STREETS AND PARKS OF CHICAGO AND IN THE HOTELS AND THE CONVENTION CENTER. THANKFULLY, TV COVERAGE OCCURRED "WHILE THE WORLD WATCHED" AS THE VIOLENCE UNFOLDED DURING THE DAYS AND NIGHTS OF THE CONVENTION. THIS IS AN UNUSUAL PIECE OF EPHEMERA ABOUT TV PREPARATIONS FOR THE 1968 NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION. VERY FEW COPIES OF THIS EPHEMERAL MAGAZINE WERE PRESERVED FOR POSTERITY. Size: 5 5/16" X 7 5/16". Bookseller Inventory # 68029
