Synopsis:

This debut collection of thirty-eight nature poems by gifted young poets, Isabel Joy Kim and Siona Prasad, includes poetic reflections on the tangled beauty of the natural world and her inhabitants. Its poetic forms range from the spare haiku to irrepressible free verse with a pair of poems paying homage to William Carlos Williams’s “The Red Wheelbarrow.” Ms. Kim and Ms. Prasad’s keen poetic sensibilities suffuse each poem and offer the reader a window into their fresh, rich perceptions of nature’s entangling beauty. About the Author:

Isabel Joy Kim is co-author and illustrator of Tangled in Beauty: Contemplative Nature Poems, her first published book. Isabel is a 7th grade honors student in the Advanced Academics Program of Fairfax County Public Schools and lives in northern Virginia with her parents, two sisters, and two cats. In 2009, Isabel was the runner-up winner of the National Zoo's Poster Contest. In her scant spare time, Isabel enjoys music, nature hikes and reading a little J.R.R. Tolkien every night with her family.

Siona Prasad is co-author of Tangled in Beauty: Contemplative Nature Poems, her first published book. Siona is a 7th grade honors student in the Advanced Academics Program of Fairfax County Public Schools and lives in northern Virginia with her parents, brother, and grandfather. Reviews

"I found this book of poems absolutely delightful -- the details, the expressive language, the ability to go beyond cliches. The poems are breathtaking ... they really do tangle together in a lovely way." -- Dr. Suzanna Henshon, co-author of Mystery Science: The Case of the Missing Bicycle, Creative Writing and Children's Literature Specialist, Florida Gulf Coast University
