Embossed bust of author on front cover. 118 pages. Measures 8 3/4 x 14 1/4. The Introduction notes that Moliere is one of the three greatest dramatists (Sophocles, Shakspere, and Moliere). They are skilled craftsmen, poets, creators of unforgettable characters, psychologists of piercing insight, and "moralists of lofty elevation". Moliere was born in 1622 under his family name but took the name Moliere when he left his father's home to become an actor.
