About this Item

Hardbound in dust jacket. First edition of the author's first book and the first book in the Don Juan series. Presentation copy with a nice contemporary inscription by the author: "To Jaqueline, on the day we climbed from the cellar to the attic and back to the cellar again. Carlos Castaneda Los Angeles, May 25th 1969." One of the most popular and influential books of the Sixties, linking the themes of drugs, metaphysics, and spirituality---issues that still resonate today. Castaneda was reclusive and never did book signing tours so autograph material from him is quite scarce---contemporary presentation copies of this book are rare. Fine in near fine, price-clipped dust jacket with a small stain to front panel but no fading to spine. Bookseller Inventory # JB-16402
