Book Description Edward Stern & Company, Philadelphia and London, 1907. Hard Cover, Cloth Spine. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Culver, R. K. (illustrator). Black decorated hardboards with brown cloth spine. White lettering for title and large color picture pastedown on cover showing two bears marching with Fife and Drum. Front endpaper and frontispiece are loose with nicking along edge. The last signature containing the ads is still attached to spine ( just barely ) the rest of the book is still together but detached from rest of book. Pages are clean, white and color plates are very nice. A great candidate for rebinding. Seller Inventory # 004563

Book Description Edward Stern & Company, Philadelphia, 1907. Hard Cover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. R. K. Culver (illustrator). First Edition. 1907 First Edition. There is a faint waterstain to the upper region of the spine. The first 2 leaves are loose with the next 2 leaves loosening and one loose colour illustration. A very bright and clean book. Slight fading to the white lettering on the spine but with still brilliant lettering and colour illustration on the front cover. 2 corners have slight peeling, else fine, unworn edges. One page has about 2 square inches of light crayon, a 1907 inked gift inscription on a frontpaper - else no writing in the book. This book was just found in a house wrapped in an old paper wrapper which has certainly kept it clean. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Seller Inventory # 8627

Oversized hardcover in dark grey paper covered boards lettered in white and with tilled on color illustration of the title bears; dark brown cloth spine. 186 pp. plus 3 pp. publisher's ads at rear. Ilustrated by R.K. Culver. 15 full page color illustrations and numerous additional black and white drawings in the text. Good to very good, corners rounded, shelf wear bottom edge and small spot of loss to the fott of the spine; somewhat shaken. The second of the enormously popular books featuring "The Roosevelt Bears", children's characters created in 1905 to capitalize on thye popularity of then-President Theodore Roosevelt. The series would run until 1921 even though Eaton died in 1916 and TR left office in 1909 and died in early 1919. Priced to reflect the condition and sold "as is". Seller Inventory # E17153
