Book Description Taka Ishi Gallery, 1997. Soft cover. Book Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. Special Edition. CLARK, LARRY. Teenage Lust, Japan: Taka Ishi Gallery, 1997. Quarto, first Japanese edition (preceded by a 1983 English-language edition), unpaginated with 98 pages of photos, mostly duotone, white illustrated wraps. This is the expanded version with an additional 13 pages of photos and a handwritten page of text by Clark. That's in English, as is all the captioning. The photographer's 23-page essay has been translated into Japanese. Clark told Roth (The Book of 101 Books) that the first edition was incomplete and he prefers this one. See Roth pp. 244-5 and Bertolotti Page 260. Clark called this an autobiography although he used people who were about 10 years younger than he, growing up under the same circumstances he did in the Southwest U.S. It's a story of sex, drug abuse and aimless living, with the final part of the book shot among young male hustlers on 42nd Street in New York City, back when it was a center of prostitution. Clark had to finance first publication himself because the original publisher wanted deletions he wouldn't make. Condition of this book: Near fine, very slight toning to the edges and wraps. Book Description Self Published, New York, 1987. Softcover. Book Condition: VG+. Second Printing. 4to, Unpaginated (ca 200pp). Numerous Black & White plates. A little creasing to spine and wear to covers, overall a very nice copy of a fragile title. Inscribed to titlepage to *****, Larry Clark 1990. The superior second printing of Clark's second book, containing the extra 13 plates that were not part of the 1983 printing. Legendary and quite rightly so. Cited in Roth, Book of 101 Books, p244-245; Auer, 802 PhotoBooks, p648. Bookseller Inventory # TWI03411
