A very detailed architectural engraving by Salomon Kleiner (1703-1761) from his sweeping series Vera Accurata Delineatio Templorum and Coenobiorum Omnium, quae tam in Caesarea Urbe ac Sede Vienna Austriae, quam in eius circumiacentibus suburbiis reperiuntur. = Wahrhaffte und genaue Abbildung, aller Kirchen und Klöster, welche sowohl in der Keyserl. = Wahrhaffte und genaue Abbildung go Kirchen und Kloster, welche sowohl in der Keyserl. Residenz-Statt Wien, als auch in denen umliegenden Vorstätten sich befinden, which was published in Augsburg , Germany by Johann Andreas Pfeffel in 1724-1737. The text for this book is in German and French. The scope of this book was enormous and it contained 165 views and plans, depicting the architecture, monastaries, Universities and gardens of early eighteenth century Vienna . Overall this print measures 19x13. Saloman Kleiner was born in Augsburg on 12 April 1703, and died in Vienna on15 March 1761. He was an extremely well known German draughtsman and engraver. His early academic training was in Augsburg by Johann August Corvinus (1683-1738). In 1721 he drew a series of city views of Vienna , which were later (1724-5) reproduced as engravings in Viennese collections. In 1722-3 Kleiner worked for the imperial vice-chancellor Friedrich Karl von Schonborn, drawing the SCHONBORN family buildings in Austria for a large collection of engravings. From 1723 he worked for Lothar Franz von Schonborn, sketching the Schonborn palaces in Franconia; other work in the region included engraved designs for altars in Bamberg churches and in Dettelbach and Main .
