About this Item

Hardcover with dust jacket; black boards with silver lettering on the spine. Some rubbing along the top and bottom spine and corners. Slight shelfwear along the bottom boards and minimal stain spots along the bottom page edges. The hinges and binding are firm and the 304 pages are clean and unmarked with an index and a listing of the published works of Tennessee Williams. The mylar covered dust jacket still has the $5 price at the time of publication. There is chipping at the top and bottom of the spine ends, as well as the corners. This dj has some shelfwear with rubbing along the back flap and slight fading along the spine. The back cover features photographs of two of Mr. Williams' plays. The material for this biography was drawn from Mr. Williams or his close acquaintances and covers his unhappy childhood, as well as his rise to fame after many years of failure. The desperation in much of Mr. Williams' work is analyzed by the author as well. A nice copy of a well researched biography. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 000769
