In Two Parts; A Prophetical Exposition of the Epistles to the Seven Churches in Asia; A Discourse of the Grounds of Faith in Points of Religion; An Antidote against Idolatry; An Appendix to the Antidote against Idolatry. To which are adjoin'd Some Divine Hymns. According to the Author's Improvements in His Latin Edition." Title, Dedication, 14 pages Preface, 856 pages, 2 endpapers. There are no frontpapers but an early tipped-in leaf before the Title Page with some early bibliographical notes on a 1750 book about the author. There are an additional 3 lines of notes on the top of the inner endpaper. Condition: Both full brown calf covers are detached and are edge-worn. The brown calf spine is worn and lacks the upper 3" of leather. The last leaf with the endpapers are attached to the detached back cover. The main text is well bound, crisp and very clean with occasional pencilled marks in the margins. Henry More (1614-1687) was a member of the Royal Society. He was one of the Cambridge Platonists who represents its mystical and theosophical side (11th Ency Brit.) This is the English version of Henry More's 1675 Latin edition with his improvements.
