(2) 142 pp. 1857 presentation inscription front free endpaper and pencilled again on the upper portion of the front pastedown. Illustrated with large and small engravings such as peacocs, the eagle, Indians, small animals, George Washington, etc. :Designed to arouse the minds of youth, and to inculcate pure and noble principles" A tight copy, generally very good, some darkening to the boards and small chips to the spine strip.
