About this Item

Historical Committee of the Regimental Association, MA. The unit was officially organized in June 1863 from already existing independant Massachsetts Cavalry Companies and the 41st Massachusetts Infantry. They fought at Port Hudson and the Red River Campaign before being shipped east to fight with General Sheridan in his Shenandoah Valley campaign in 1864 and eventually the Grand Review in Washington. Good copy of the first edition. The book has some shelf wear, a tender rear hinge and stain on the bottom part of the spine that looks like a call letters sticker was removed although there is no signs the book was ex-library. No dust jacket. 566 pages. Bookseller Inventory # 25033
