Rhea who lived in Arkansas for 30 years prior to the Civil War. He left in 1861 because he believed in the Union. He was forced to flee Missouri and settled in Iowa. The remainer of the book is lectures he gave. Rev Rhea was ahead of his time on women's right. He lectured on equal pay, the right to vote and protection from physical abuse.
