G PB. Inscribed by Newton who wrote Thomas Hardy, Novelist or Poet? to raise funds for the memorial near Egdon Heath immortalized in the first chaper of The Return of the Native. The memorial was unveiled on April 10, 1931 (photo as frontis of booklet). Also photo of Hardy after a portrait by Augustus John in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, England, plus two drawings about book collectors. Booklet also has the half-title page of Tess of the D'Urbervilles attached to the back. Blue binding with blue cord. Illustrated by Photos. Bookseller Inventory # 043902
