About this Item

239 pages. D & J L4480. Thomas Hodge was a young Cornishman who arrived at St. Andrews in the 1850s to open a boarding school. Before long he was elected a member of the R & A Golf Club and was a keen golfer. However, he was an even better artist. Over a period of 40 years Hodge drew and painted thousands of tiny portraits and miniature landscapes. He was known by all as the "Golf Artist of St. Andrews". In 1983 a large quantity of his work was discovered in London and this book tells the full story of Hodge. Profusely illustrated with many black and white and color illustrations by Hodge. We specialize in golf books. Bookseller Inventory # 001772
