About this Item

Off white cloth stamped in green and gold with the image of a Yucca plant on front cover. Illustrated with 67 photographs and maps taken during the author's travels in Venezuela and Central America. Richard Harding Davis was a widely read and prolific journalist and author at the turn of the last century, most notably known for his war correspondence. This account of his travels includes a trip to the then stalled Panama Canal project, as well as adventures in Hondurus, Nicaragua, British Hondurus, and Belize. An interesting travelogue and comentary written two years before the outbreak of the Spanish-American War. BAL 4521. Very tip of top corner of front free end-paper lacking, cloth slightly dusty from age and several small dark spots on spine. No name, no book-plate, etc. A solidly bound, internally very clean copy. Very good. Bookseller Inventory # 003409
