Book Description The Viking Press, New York, 1954. Hard Back. Book Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. English, Bill - Jacket Design (illustrator). Book Club Edition. 216 Pages. Viking Press March 1954 Edition. Book has a small dent at the bottom of the cover board. Dust jacket is somewhat tattreed but complete with flaps. The front dust jacket cover/flap edge is lightly glued to the front board. Interior text pages are flawless. No marks or stamps. Mystery fans continue to marvel that Rex Stout's novelettes are packed with as much plot, characterization, wit, and suspense as his full-length novels. In two of these stories Nero - much to his dislike- stirs from his premises. In Invitation to Murder he comes rushing to a millionaire's home to save Archie and incidentally to determine if one of three handsome women is a murderer. In This Won't Kill You he actually goes to a World Series game and solves a murder in which fielding errors and base hits are among the clues. To make up for this unaccustomed dashing about, in The Zero Clue, Nero not only stays strictly at home, but manages to get most of Manhattan's homicide team occupying his house while he tries to decipher the mysterious clue left by the dying mathematical wizard. Size: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Book Club Edition. Bookseller Inventory # 13318
