This is a book for readers of all ages that is educational and fascinating, with 29 full-color drawings created by the author from her collection of Kachina dolls. Included in the book is a glossary and a page of maps that show the location of traditional Hopi villages.

About the Author: Barbara Winther operated Old Bear Trading Company with her husband for twenty-one years, representing many Native American artists. She taught fifth and sixth grades in California and for six years led Native American Art seminars at the University of California Extension. With Hartman Lomawaima she wrote the book Hopitu for a Kachina doll exhibit at the Jesse Peter Museum. Four of her articles on Native American basketry were published in American Indian Art Magazine. In 2012 she co-authored a book about the rebirth of Northwest Coast Native art--Pasco:Art as Life, See www.BarbaraWinther.com for her other publications.
