Introduced by George Gershwin, a former music "plugger" in New York's Tin Pan Alley, this work offers a history of the evolution of music in that area of the city, from its early performers to various musical genres, including the blues and jazz. Notables such as Irving Berlin are also discussed. With several photo plates, all present as called for. In GOOD condition with very heavy fading to the spine and upper front extremity.
