48 pages. Inspired by the frequent use of adverbs in the Tom Swift books, these humorously illustrated plays-on-words make puns between what is said and how it is said. I'll see if I can dig it up for you, said Tom gravely. Etc. First edition (first printing stated). Very good in wrappers (paperback), with the price inked out on the cover. Very scarce in the first, self-published, version, and with somewhat different content than the Grosset and Dunlap version. For example, in this original, Tom dryly accepts a martini; in the later version he refuses one the same way. Bookseller Inventory # 136115
