"William Romaine Paterson ( 1871- ?1935) was a Glasgow based novelist and writer, often writing under the pen-name of Benjamin Swift. William lived in University Gardens near the University of Glasgow, Scotland and was interned in Vichy, France, during the war. As well as writing novels, he wrote a number of essays, poems and short stories. He published fourteen volumes of fiction under this pseudonym. Swift's novels treat unusual and sometimes macabre subjects, and their tone fluctuates wildly from farce to sustained social satire." Faintly rubbed boards with minor edge wear, and age-toned text block edges, else, Pristine Interior. Clean, tight and strong binding with no underlining, highlighting or marginalia.
