About this Item

believed circa 1899. Green cloth. 90 pages. SIGNED by the author, with a brief dedication. The name appears to be Geo (George) M'Crie and is the name given in OCLC records. An apparently self-published travelogue recounting the author's travels from Glasgow to Europe, visiting London, Brussels, Heidelberg, Paris, Cologne, Frankfort, Geneva and other cities in Europe. Written in the first person, with diary style entries, the author describes the sites and people in the various cities and countries. In Heidelberg he recounts seeing many university students with cuts and scars on their faces, apparently the results of dueling. He travels mostly by train, with a boat passage on the Rhine. GOOD+ condition. Minor general fading to the covers, with light soiling and scuffing. Some foxing to the page edges, with light foxing in the interior. Bookseller Inventory # 005485
