Late nineteenth century bicycle guide for the young state, showing routes even to remote areas. ?No one appreciates the necessity of good roads so thoroughly as the touring cyclist. Our slogan is, ?We want good roads in California?? (page 4). Includes cycling ordinances for various towns such as 'Sidewalk riding on First Street Prohibited' (Livermore) and 'Must sound bell day and night' (Napa). A charming and scarce 19th century travel guide. A very good copy in red/brown cloth that is lightly scuffed and worn. Embossed cover title dimmed. Binding is sound and maps are in very good to fine condition. 1-inch black stain on back cover. No dust jacket. A bit musty. Bookseller Inventory # 122877
