Contemporary calf, rubbed, spine gilt with raised bands; signatures of two former owners, minor ink stain on title, otherwise an excellent copy. First edition of a work on neurological disorders. It treats, among maladies, headaches, apoplexia, mania, melancholy, hydrophobia, giddiness, and convulsions. Little is known about Lazerme (1676-1756) except that he was a French physician and Professor of Medicine at Montpellier University. He published a famous monograph on the subject of sleepwalking.
