4to. Frontispiece and 17 half-tone plates, each with two images. Near-contemporary quarter brown morocco gilt, top edges gilt, printed wrappers bound in. Provenance: Edwin Stanton Fickes (bookplates). FIRST EDITION, errata slip tipped in. This is Filson Club Publication number 23, and includes an 11-page list of Club members at end, and a 9-page list of their publications. The author was then-President of the Club, and he recounts tales of Madoc and the Welsh in North America 300 years before Columbus. Louisville, and Kentucky in general, are the main focus.
